WhoWe Are

Supporting Child Caregivers (SCC) is dedicated to building the capacity of child caregivers to foster healthy caregiving relationships and support healthy child development, especially during infancy and early childhood.

SCC develops and implements a diverse range of initiatives, including caregiver training curricula, research, data analysis, educational tools, and social media advocacy. We translate research and evidence into practical, culturally congruent resources that can be used through in-person and virtual training, mentoring, and digital outreach.

Our work is grounded in collaboration with local institutions, particularly in underserved and high-risk communities. We support all those who play a critical role in children's lives—including parents, health workers, teachers, and other caregivers—by providing accessible, evidence-informed information and tools to strengthen their caregiving relationships.

We share insights and resources broadly through professional conferences, publications, training programs, and social media, with the goal of helping caregivers build the relationships children need to thrive.

Our Mission

Supporting Child Caregivers, Inc. (SCC) is a US-based non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to build the capacity of child caregivers to nurture and support healthy child development by strengthening the child-caregiver bond, beginning in infancy. We collaborate with local institutions in underserved, high-risk communities globally to provide useful, culturally congruent information relevant to all who care for children—parents, health workers, teachers, and others—in support of their critical roles in nurturing the children who are our future. We offer a portfolio of diverse methodologies, including:

Social Media Advocacy

The innovative educational materials we create are used for in-person and virtual training and mentoring and are disseminated widely through social media. Key insights from the work of SCC and its partners are shared with a global audience through professional conferences, publications, and social media platforms.

Building Baby Brains (BBB)

Building Baby Brains (BBB) is a manualized, scalable curriculum designed to build capacity among infant caregivers and their families. The curriculum covers early childhood development, perinatal mental health, and a practical guided observation tool to support the infant-parent relationship. To ensure maximum effectiveness, BBB is adapted for cultural congruence in collaboration with local institutions and caregivers for every implementation. Flexible in delivery, BBB can be taught in person or remotely (with an on-site facilitator or interpreter) and is typically completed over three adaptable days.

SCC uses these innovative educational materials for in-person and virtual training, mentoring, and dissemination through social media. Key insights from this work are shared with a wide audience through professional conferences and publications, in addition to our various social media platforms.
